Aviation Fuel Tank Entry System
The TANK SAFE fuel tank entry system is a bespoke single unit solution containing all apparatus and equipment required for safe entry into aircraft fuel tanks.
This predominantly pneumatic powered system is designed to be fed from a hangar or workshop ‘ring main’ air supply, with the trailer having built in capacity to supply air to wearers of breathing apparatus in the event of a supply failure.
The unit is deigned to be ‘used from the trailer’ with all air filtration and breathing air supply systems being permanently mounted.
All items are fitted with suitable ‘Earth / Grounding’ cables as required.
All apparatus is certified and approved as appropriate to the required standards.
Larger systems for multiple Tank Entry tasks may be mounted on a larger trailer platform or vehicle. Please contact us to discuss your exact requirements.
Fuel drain /Sumping
- 1 off – Pneumatic powered fuel sump drain pump and delivery hoses (suction and outlet)
Ventilation
- 2 off – Pneumatic powered high volume venturi ventilation units
- 4 off – 5 metre anti-static lay flat ventilation hose
- 1 off – 300 metre roll of anti-static lay flat ventilation polyethylene hose
- 2 off – Airframe panel – ventilation hose adaptors
Lighting
- 2 off – ATEX approved LED lighting units
Communications
- 1 off – ATEX approved hard wired communications system (Operator to entrants – entrants to operator)
Atmospheric monitoring
- 2 off – Suitably configured personal atmosphere monitoring units
Supply Hose
- 50 metres of supply hose (hangar to Tank Safe unit) mounted on wheeled trolley
Breathing Air Purifier
- 1 off – Breathing air filter unit (removing CO, CO², Oil, Water, Odour, Particles)
Breathing System
- 2 off – Fully independent Breathing Air Supply Panels capable of supplying 2 wearers each (total 4) via up to 30 metres of hose, supported by pneumatic audible and visual low pressure alarms and backed by 4 off high pressure breathing air cylinders for emergency supply use
- 4 off – Harness mounted positive pressure airline breathing apparatus units

Technical/CE Approval
The mechanical systems are supported with technical files and documentation to provide ongoing support in the field. All design criteria have focused on the systems being compliant with regulatory requirements and where applicable together with CE approval and marking.
Warranty Statement
All mechanical and pneumatic equipment supplied will be guaranteed with warranty for the first 12 months from the date of shipping.
